Welcome to Squirrel's slightly nutty world of rubber stamping, papercraft, cats, Formula 1 and a variety of other off-the-wall topics. It's fabulous to see you and I hope you enjoy your time here. Please do pop back and visit me again soon!
I'm sure it is a question many of us have asked ourselves, which do I prefer, people or animals.
Well, that is the theme for this fortnights challenge over at AS YOU LIKE IT but you will of course have to explain yourself!
I do seem to have used a lot of people images on my cards lately, but I prefer the animals, in real life too. They tend to appeal to everyone, and the same image can be adjusted for either a male or female recipient, and the majority of them are sooooo cute!
Hello peeps, it is Thursday again and another challenge begins! Today it is AS YOU LIKE IT and the theme for the fortnight is Your Favourite Paper Pad (and why).
There is a paper mountain (possibly even the whole range of mountains) growing in my craft space. I am a sucker for pretty papers. I have lots of favourite pads, but my all time, take it to a desert island, last pad on earth, favourite is from Nitwits (when they used to sell through LOTV) and it is Petal Fresh. It so makes me think of freshly laundered cotton sheets that I can almost smell then on the washing line in the sunshine - the sheets, not the papers.
So, I have used the Petal Fresh papers, and have teamed them up with Stamping Bella Tiny Townies Garden Girl - Sweet Pea. Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) Sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.
The sponsor of this challenge is
Lawn Fawn A stamp set and 6x6 pad of the winner’s choice
Thanks to a superbloggy friend, I was able to finally get my paws on this stamp set. I missed it before it was retired, so when it made a comeback I had to have it this time.
Then another superbloggy friend put the squeeze on, to get me to enter the amazing Superstar 2017 challenge over at My Favorite Things. I am certainly no superstar, and my colouring is not Virtuoso standard, but I'm having a go anyway.
So this is
MFT Witch Way Is The Candy
Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)
I used the Mini Cloud edges with purple Distress Oxide for the sky
and again but closer together for the Distress Ink ground
I wanted a lumpy, tussocky, moorland in moonlight look, it kinda worked
Hi all, just popping by with a reminder for the Squirrel's Not So Random Challenge that is currently running until the end of October with the theme of Holiday Fun. Even though the kiddies are back in school, there are still people taking holidays!
I have used a CC Designs stamp from Roberto's Rascals
Please be aware that I will be taking my annual holiday from Friday 18th August until Monday 4th September. Orders received after 3pm Thursday 17th August will not start shipping until Tuesday 5th September. Whilst I am away the website will be updated with any new stock and restocks and you will still be able to place orders online.
Morning all, hope things are going well for you on the run in to the Bank Holiday weekend! Oh three glorious days in a row, bliss.
Ok then, it's a new challenge over at AS YOU LIKE IT and the theme for the next two weeks is FUR OR FEATHERS - your favourite, and tell us why.
For me, there is no contest, it is fur all the way, soft, strokeable, sniffable, snugglable, warm and cuddly fur, preferably when it is wrapped around an amenable animal! Rosie simply does not accept my overtures for letting me dump her onto my lap for a cuddle session - how I envy those owned by lapcats.
Lili of The Valley - James Bear with Daisy
Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)
Clouds done with Distress Inks (pad)
Sentiment is from an old Hero Arts clear sentiments set
Yoo-hoo folks, happy Thursday to you! Alternate Thursdays mean a new challenge from AS YOU LIKE IT and this time around we would like you to share with us your Favourite Embellishment(s) and tell us why they are your favourites.
You may have guessed that I didn't choose the theme! Embellishments, phooey! I'm a clean and simple kinda girl, some days more simple than others (ha), so I tend to restrict embellishments, a lot. Rather than being able to add lots of stuff skillfully, my makes tend to look a little, shall we say, rugged. So I keep it simple. I love die-cut embellishments but try to use them to echo the theme, like this one with the stars
So, for my simple card I have used:
CC Designs - Dancing
Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) and Polychromos Pencils
Joanna Sheen Starry Night Border Die
Sentiment from who-knows-where but it was one of those "that'll be useful" purchases years ago
